Meet the Staff: Julie Cardman
Julie Cardman is the Director of Quality and Implementation Services at PalabraApps. Below, she shares a bit about her background and her life now:
“I was the Director of IT at the Regional Cancer Center in Erie, PA for 10 years. I was hired when the entire Palabra team totaled 5 employees in January 2017, and am coming up on my 2-year anniversary this month. I have done a variety of jobs in my 2 years, but currently oversee implementation for new users and assist current customers with a variety of initiatives.
I decided to work for PalabraApps as a result of working on a project to reduce our transcription expenses at the Regional Cancer Center. Since we were an early PalabraApps customer, we spent a great deal of time working with Wade and Amalia on template design and implementation, and became good friends in the process. I was hired about 18 months after our first meeting, and I always say it was the longest job interview anyone ever had.
PalabraApps is pet-friendly, as we all work from our home offices. I share my office with 2 dogs. My newest office mate is Bo, a 9-week old English Setter puppy, whose preferred napping spot is my lap while I’m working.
I live in Pennsylvania with my husband and 2 teenagers, near Lake Erie, and also happen to live close to 2 other Palabra employees, the husband and wife team of Tom and Alicia Chandler. We get a lot of snow, and working from home definitely has its advantages during the winter, as my commute totals 10 seconds and I can keep my slippers on.”
